2008 Kroll Conference to Feature Screening of Praying with Lior


In August, the Bureau of Jewish Education of Rhode Island will once again offer The Elaine and Sanford (z"l) Kroll Conference for Jewish Educators. This year's program features three workshops for edcuators. In addition, the Bureau, in partnership with the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island, will present a screening of the film Praying with Lior. The winner of numerous academy awards in festivals nationwide, Praying with Lior asks whether someone with Down syndrome can be a "spiritual genius." The film screening is open to the public, and will be held on August 26th at 7:00pm. Click here for more information and to download the information and registration form.

PJ Library renewals for year two underway!

Great news! The Harold Grinspoon Foundation, founder of the PJ Library program, is extending the offer for PJ Library renewals at no cost to recepients! The first year of greater Rhode Island's PJ Library program is coming to a close. If your child was enrolled in PJ Library between June and September, 2007, please renew your subscription. The cost for a child living outside of greater Rhode Island is still $60. Contact Nicole Katzman, Director of PJ Library (nkatzman@bjeri.org) to renew!
