BJE/RI to Host Summer Ulpan

   Once again, BJE/RI will host a summer Ulpan featuring educatorss Rachel Ziv and Simcha Pe'er, our friends from our Partnership 2000 region of Afula/Gilboa.
   Classes will be held four times each week form July 7 -10 and July 14-17. Four levels of Hebrew instruction will be offered, from beginners to advanced. Classes will meet during one of two sessions, 9:45 am - 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm - 4:15 pm.

BJE/RI names educator awards winners at 57th annual meeting

On Thursday, May 15th, the Bureau of Jewish Education of Rhode Island held its 57th annual meeting. In addition to installing the slate of board members and officers for 2008/2009, the Educational Services Department granted the annual educator awards. The awards presented:

Jewish Video Heritage Collection films now available on DVD

BJE/RI has offered the Jewish Video Heritage Collection (JHVC) on VHS for many years. We are pleased to announce that we now have many JHVC titles on DVD. If you'd like to borrow a film, visit the JHVC display shelf in the JCC lobby (401 Elmgrove Avenue entrance), make your selection, and bring the film cases to the BJE/RI Library. Films may be borrowed for two weeks at a time, at no cost. Click here for a list of JHVC films, but please note that some of these films may not be available.
