Funders

Operations Budget: the Bureau of Jewish Education of Rhode Island operations budget is funded through a variety of sources, including: 
  • annual allocation from the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island
  • fees for direct service and program tuition
  • donations from community members through our annual Friends campaign and other fundraising initiatives
  • income from the Bureau of Jewish Education Endowment Funds (click here for a complete list of our endowments)
  • income from the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island Endowment Fund
Extra-Budget Programs: in addition to the annual operations budget, the Bureau offers a number of programs funded by grant funds or other restricted funds. For the 2007/2008 fiscal year, these programs are:
  • B'nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy--funded by the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation
  • Educational Excellence Task Force--funded by the Jewish Educational Service of North America and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation
  • March of the Living--funded by the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island Endowment Fund, the Bureau of Jewish Education Endowment Fund, the Touro Fraternal Organization, and March of the Living International
  • PJ Library--funded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island, and Rhode Island Friends of PJ Library
  • Young Emmissary Program--funded by the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island, participating schools and synagogues and the Jewish Agency for Israel
