Why support Jewish education?
We know you
recognize the importance of Jewish education in building community and
securing Jewish identity. And you understand that it is our
responsibility to continue to remind our community and its leaders that
Jewish education is an investment in Jewish continuity, and that we
must remain steadfast to ensure our mission is successful.
With the support of community members like you, these are among
Jewish educational experiences provided by BJE/RI to our community:
- Aaron
is a student at the Harry Elkin Midrasha Community High School and a
mentor to a student with special needs. He and more than 100 teens are
exploring and strengthening their Jewish identity and building a
community of peers through the study of Torah, tradition and Hebrew,
all while developing their leadership skills and serving our community
at Midrasha and in programs like Inter-Generations!, the March of the
Living and Timeless Jerusalem, an online, virtual environment course.
- Hundreds of families are realizing the joy and benefits of the PJ Library program, which provides free Jewish books and music to children each month, and which provides and facilitates a wide-array of family programming throughout greater Rhode Island with more than 30 Jewish and secular, public and private, non-profit and commercial partners.
- Rivka’s professional
expertise was enhanced at the Zelniker Conference. She and hundreds of
Jewish educators-both novices and veterans-are engaging in professional
development experiences, workshops and creativity opportunities as they
hone their skills and ensure a quality Jewish education for thousands
of students in greater Rhode Island.
- Zach experienced Israel as
a living classroom at the Alexander Muss High School in Hod HaSharon.
Zach and 25 other high school and college students will experience the
wonders of Israel on a spectrum of study and learning programs.
- 15
women of other faiths have enrolled in the Mothers Circle program,
gaining the practice and knowledge they need to support them and their
families in their generous choice to raise their children Jewishly.
